Nettie's Crab Shack/Cow Hollow-Marina

Pros: More than a crab shack
Cons: Long waits at peak times
Best For: A laid-back weekend brunch on the sun-denched back patio

Nettie's Crab ShackAnnette Yang, aka Nettie, along with chef Brian Leitner, has come up with a Marina winner. Smack dab in the middle of lively Union Street, this solid seafood restaurant is a heavy favorite on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, when the sun decides to shine. Solid fare, attentive staff and a relaxed attitude make for a very enjoyable culinary treat. Mushroom soup with herb oil, crab cakes and piles of rosemary shoestring potatoes arrive done to perfection.

Noteworthy: A plastic bib will be tied around your neck if you've come to crack Dungeness crab.
