Katana-Ya/Union Square

Pros: Heart-warming ramen til late night
Cons: Put your name on the list and wait
Best For: High quality food and top notch staff

Katana-Ya is not in a chic neighborhood, as in Tenderloin-adjacent, where waiting outside for a table can get a bit weird. However, it's worth every minute of sharing the sidewalk with whomever, cause once inside, no worries. It's a tiny cafe with authentic ramen and other equally as well-prepared menu choices, perfect for that foggy late afternoon pick-me-up or post-event late night supper.

Noteworthy: Take-out is a good option.
