Cons: None, unless it's possible to o.d. from eating too many
Best For: A truly happy hour

Hog Island Oyster Bar
Hog Island Oyster Bar occupies a spectacular location at the North end of the Ferry Building, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Bay. Every Monday and Thursday from 5-7pm you pay $1 per oyster and $3.50 for a pint of beer. Deal, huh? If oysters don't charm you, they're also famous for their gourmet version of a grilled cheese sandwich.

Hog Island leases 160 acres in Tomales Bay where they raise over 3 million Pacific, Kumamoto and Atlantic oysters per year, plus Manila clams and mussels. They practice sustainable aquaculture and if you're looking for a cool excursion North of the city, make a reservation to eat at the oyster farm, on Highway 1, 49 miles North of San Francisco.
