Pros: A hip, elegant and modern room with food and wine pairings to match
Cons: Costly
Best For: Meeting a business associate you'd like to share a glass of wine with

RN74RN74 is a joint venture between restauranteur Michael Mina, sommelier Rajat Parr and chef Jason Berthold. Unless you've travelled the French countryside, you'd never know that RN74 is the name of the road that winds through the vineyards and wineries of Burgundy.

2010 was a good year for the restaurant. Wine Spectator declared it a Grand Award winner for its wine list, service, cuisine and ambiance. Definitely worth a visit, but come with someone who can use the company card, unless your budget is limitless. The wine bar menu, offered in the sequestered lounge, is loaded with wine-paired small plates, such as maitake mushroom tempura, and herb-roasted marrow bones with grilled bread and bacon vinaigrette. If Burgundian escargots suit your fancy, they are delivered from the kitchen, accompanied by herb butter and tomato compote.

Besides the wine bar menu, lunch and dinner are also served. Check the restaurant website for hours.
