Mount Diablo State Park/Donner Canyon Waterfall Loop/East Bay

Pros: Rugged, steep and gorgeous
Cons: Summer heat
Best For: Cascading waterfalls right after Winter rains

Mount Diablo Donner Canyon Waterfall Loop

The Donner Canyon Waterfall Loop is about 5.7 miles long, strenuous but truly beautiful, especially in early Spring. That's when the wildflowers are blooming, creeks are full of water, and waterfalls come tumbling down canyon walls.

Allow several hours for this hike, bring food and water, and enjoy the diverse scenery and rugged terrain. Don't forget the sunscreen!
